Yoga brings people together. Whether you’re new to yoga or a seasoned mat warrior, you’ve definitely met some of these yogis… or you are one of them.
1. The Early Bird Yogi

Arrives 25 minutes before class and 'chopes' their favorite spot. Has already set up their mat, blocks, strap, knee pads, etc. when the instructor walks in. Enjoys having a nice easy chat with instructor before starting class.
2. The Glamorous Yogi

Head-to-toe matching outfit. Makeup stays in place and hair remains beautifully styled even when upside down. Manages to glow gracefully and not turn red in hot power flow class.
3. The Hypermobile One

Comes to class for some light stretching and somehow twists into a human pretzel. Teacher loves to use them as a demo.
4. The Gym Bro

High on strength but low on flexibility. Can do 100 Chaturangas no sweat but may have difficulty scratching back due to huge lats blocking. Always cheerful and gung-ho!
5. The High Achiever

Puts in 110% effort for every pose and always gives the most difficult variation a try. You admire them and wonder at their energy level.
6. The Connector

Highly social, loves connecting with people and community building. Knows everyone in class by name, sets up WhatsApp chat groups and arranges coffee sessions after class. Makes yoga class more than just a fitness class.
7. The Spiritual Scholar

Drifts into class with a calm, peaceful vibe. Often quotes yoga philosophy and meditates regularly. Knows the Sanskrit name for every pose and enjoys chanting prayers, incense and essential oils.
8. The Sleeping Beauty

Usually a busy professional in sore need of some relaxation and stress relief. Loves restorative class and sound bath. Comes to class armed with an eye mask and falls asleep before Savasana even begins. Living their best life!
9. The Excited Yogi

Lighthearted and super-positive, tends to be the life of the party. Gets very excited when they or anyone else achieves a challenging asana. Laughs every time they lose balance. Laughs when someone else loses balance. Everyone loves them.
10. The Earnest Yogi

Has a laundry list of body parts they want to work on. Serious demeanor in class and carefully processes and executes each instruction. Does research on yoga gear and practices at home on their own. Delighted when progression is achieved!
