Happy International Day of Yoga 🧘 The theme for this Flow of the Week 😎 is... Wild Thing!

Tips for Wild Thing:

  1. Preparation: important to open the shoulders and upper back sufficiently. Work on puppy pose and deep downward dog, pushing the chest backwards towards thighs and lowering head to the mat. Open hip flexors with some bridges and low lunges.

  2. Entry: try entering from a seated position instead of downward dog, with one leg extended in front of you and one leg bent.

  3. Push hips up to ceiling: actively squeeze glutes to push your hips up to the ceiling and keep legs actively engaged.

  4. Turn grounded palm inwards: instead of fingers facing backwards, turn your palm inwards. Press strongly through the shoulder (push the ground away!) and elevate your shoulders towards the ears. The palm positioning allows you to rotate your shoulder externally as you...

  5. Push the chest upwards and backwards: open the chest up to the ceiling and extend fully from the shoulder and upper back.
